Spread over an area of 100 acres, MM Natural has started essential oil plant plantations in the eastern part of Nepal in partnership with the local farmers. High quality stainless steel distillation unit has been installed for contamination free high quality oil production.
MM Natural, although a private enterprise, believes in working in a cooperative model with proportionate benefit sharing with the farmers. It provides seeds and sapling and technical assistance to the farmers free of cost. Focused on long term sustainable operation and mutual benefits rather than short term profitability, it aims to increase the farming area by setting examples with good yield and price.
Starting initially with chamomile, it plans to expand to other varieties like mentha, basil, lemon grass and so on. The distillation unit is capable of extracting essential oils from chamomile, mentha, basil, lemon grass, citronella, eucalyptus, cinnamon oil, rosemary, lavender, ginger and also from herbs like jatamasi (Spikenard) and bojo ( Acorus calamus) .
MM Natural is in constant consultation with various Community Forest User Groups (CFUGs) for long term partnership that will enable the community forests to be self sustainable and protected.
With its well established network, MM Natural also sources high quality herbs like Jatamashi (Spikenard), Chiraita (Swertia Chiraita), Kutki (Picrorhiza kurroa, Gentian) etc direct from their sources in the hills and mountains of Nepal.
